Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ShortGame collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use ShortGame to create, edit, play, and publish browser games with AI.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to run a game creation workspace:
- Account information: name, email address, avatar, verified sign-in status, and account identifiers from Google sign-in.
- Project content: prompts, chat messages, game titles, generated game files, assets, versions, previews, publishing status, and project history.
- Usage and generation records: creation status, build events, validation results, errors, timestamps, credit reservations, credit usage, and service logs.
- Billing information: plan, credit balance, subscription status, billing events, and Stripe customer or subscription identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by ShortGame.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device data, cookies, session tokens, security logs, and similar information needed for authentication, reliability, fraud prevention, and debugging.
- Support communications: messages you send to us, including privacy, billing, abuse, or copyright requests.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create, validate, preview, save, publish, and share browser games;
- keep your projects and versions available across sessions;
- authenticate accounts and protect sessions;
- operate credits, subscriptions, invoices, and billing support;
- detect abuse, spam, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
- debug failures, improve reliability, and understand which product flows are working;
- respond to support, privacy, legal, and copyright requests; and
- comply with applicable law, accounting, security, and recordkeeping obligations.
AI processing
ShortGame uses AI systems to turn your prompts and follow-up instructions into playable browser games. To do that, we may send your prompts, project context, generated code, validation results, and related technical information to AI model, code execution, and asset generation providers. These providers process the information so the Service can generate, repair, and improve your game.
Do not include passwords, private keys, payment card numbers, health information, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal data in prompts, generated assets, project files, or chat messages.
Public games and sharing
Projects are private to your account unless you publish or share them. When you publish a game, the game title, playable version, public URL, preview assets, and related public metadata may be visible to anyone with the link and may appear in ShortGame public play areas. Public pages may be indexed, cached, copied, or embedded by browsers, search engines, and third parties.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate and protect ShortGame:
- Authentication providers: Google helps verify your identity when you sign in.
- Payment providers: Stripe processes payments, subscriptions, invoices, and billing portal sessions.
- Infrastructure providers: hosting, databases, cache, object storage, CDN, logging, and email providers help store and deliver the Service.
- AI and asset providers: model, code generation, validation, and asset generation providers process project content to create or edit games.
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect users or the Service, or to respond to abuse, security, fraud, or copyright reports.
- Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a replacement policy with notice where required.
Cookies and sessions
We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, session security, navigation, abuse prevention, product reliability, and—only when you allow it—analytics. Necessary storage supports the Service; optional analytics storage is controlled by the preference shown in ShortGame. If we add marketing cookies or other non-essential uses, we will provide any additional notice or controls required.
If you allow analytics, ShortGame records page and product-step events together with a pseudonymous browser ID, traffic source, device category, and coarse location supplied by Google Analytics. We do not send game prompts, generated code, email addresses, payment details, or authentication tokens to analytics. You can change this choice by clearing the ShortGame analytics preference in your browser.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, project, billing, and service records for as long as needed to provide ShortGame, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and maintain backups. Deleted projects may remain in backups or logs for a limited period before they are overwritten or removed. Some billing, security, and legal records may be retained longer where required.
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be kept where retention is legally required or necessary for security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including session controls, access restrictions, managed secrets, and storage protections. No online service is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, lost, or misused.
Children
ShortGame is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to ShortGame, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Users under the age of majority should use ShortGame only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
International users
ShortGame and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as ShortGame changes. If an update materially changes how we handle personal information, we will provide notice where required. Your continued use of ShortGame after an update means the updated Policy applies.
